SIENA GROSSETO

Grosseto is only 25 km from Hotel Fontermosa. It has one of the most beautiful and well conserved fortified city walls in all of Italy, second only to Lucca. These fortified walls encircle the city forming almost a perfect hexagon.
Siena is slightly less than 100 km from Hotel Fontermosa driving on a 4 lane roadway for more than half the distance. It is worth the trip to see rolling hills covered thickly by typical mediterranean woods, olive groves and vineyards a landscape that has been loved and celebrated by writers, painters and poets, for the most part foreigners, through the centuries.
